General Manager Refinery
Mr. Amar Abbas is a distinguished professional with an extensive career spanning over 33 years in the fertilizer sector with FFC and the refinery sector with PARCO. He earned an MS in Engineering Management from UET Taxila and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Punjab University Lahore.
Since joining PARCO in 2000 at the pivotal commissioning stage of the refinery, he has demonstrated exceptional expertise in various facets of refinery operations. His management experience encompasses General Management, Operations Management, Process Engineering, Safety, Refinery Economics, Production Planning, Turnaround Management, and Project Management.
His key accomplishments include driving high plant availability and reliability, ensuring safe operations, achieving operational excellence, and spearheading major capacity enhancement projects and new unit installations for product upgradation. Additionally, Mr. Abbas has effectively managed HAZOP studies, benchmarking studies, and transformation exercises, reflecting his commitment to continuous improvement.
Mr. Abbas is a member of the Pakistan Engineering Council and the Petroleum Institute of Pakistan. His strategic vision and hands-on experience make him a valuable asset in advancing operational efficiency and driving innovation within the refinery sector.
