PARCO wins Living the Global Compact Business Sustainability Award 2022
Pak-Arab Refinery Limited (PARCO) continues to emerge as the beacon of sustainability as its commitment towards UNGC Principles and Sustainable Development Goals has once again been lauded by the UN Global Network Pakistan.
PARCO won the first prize at “Living The Global Compact Best Practices Sustainability Awards 2022″ in the National Enterprise Category, for the ninth consecutive time during the SDGs Pakistan Summit 2023 organized by Global Compact Network Pakistan. The process of selection involved an in-depth evaluation by multi-disciplinary local and foreign jury members, who assessed the performance of companies in each of the four areas of the UN Global Compact, i.e. Human Rights, Environment, Labor and Transparency. Mr. Nadeem Ajwad Chishti, Head of External Affairs and CSR, received the award on behalf of PARCO at the prestigious ceremony.
The achievement signifies PARCO’s efforts of building a shared economic and social value nationwide especially in the vicinities where it operates. Through its inclusive value chains, future-fit business practices and purpose-led CSR initiatives, PARCO remains at the fore-front of combating the global challenges of climate change, responsible governance, and human rights. With the primary focus on effective implementation of SDGs, PARCO’s CSR arm strategically touches upon the underprivileged communities which are located near the widespread operations of the company in the areas of healthcare, education and women empowerment.
